Overview

The Office of the Provost is coordinating an early progress report (EPR) campaign using Pathways on a select group of students. We know our faculty members are committed to the welfare and success of their students. EPRs allow faculty members to identify students of concern and share that information with advisors and other student support staff on campus, who can have a more holistic sense about students who may be falling through the cracks early in the semester. This campaign will be active between weeks 4 and 6 of the term to provide students with enough time to seek help and make changes before it is too late.

We have partnered with (a) instructors to make this process as easy as possible, (b) advisors to make sure they have the resources to act on the important information provided by instructors, and (c) administrators to ensure we have their support.

For instructors, there are several important things to note. First, you do not have to supply information for every student. Second, you do not need to provide grade information for the EPR. The request for midterm grades will come later in the semester. Third, if you are concerned about someone who is not on your list, you can submit a referral through the Pathways platform.

Do not hesitate to reach out to April Belback (abelback@pitt.edu), Associate Vice Provost of Student Success and Advising, if you have questions or concerns.
